Update on CCv3

It's been a while since the ODRB convened to look over postings; having found a
couple dealing with CC v3, we felt compelled to give a response. We regret the
tardiness of this posting.

On Mon, 10 Apr 2006, Michelle Ruppel <maruppel@saffiresys.com> asked:

CCv3.0 was out for review and received numerous comments. The most significant
changes to CCv3.0 in response to these comments are on Part 2. Version 3.1
(Part 2) will in no way resemble v3.0 (Part 2); it will be much closer to v2.3
(Part 2). Parts 1 and 3 of v3.1 will be very similar to v3.0.

Version 3.1 will not become an official version until it is approved by the
Management Committee (the signatories of the CCRA) and they will be meeting in
conjunction with the ICCC in September. Until it is approved, it is subject to
minor corrections, so it is not likely to be available until it is completely
stable.

On 20 Apr 2006, Alexandre le Goaster <alexandre.le.goaster@aql.fr> asked:

The only correspondence document that we know of is the one at:
http://www.commoncriteriaportal.org/public/files/CCv3.0%20transition.pdf As
noted above, Part 2 is expected to be very similar to the current (v2.3) Part
2, so table 5 in the PDF document can be ignored.
