Back in May, the ODRB/NIB, in response to a post from Hirofumi Yokota
regarding the confusing wording of ADV_FSP.6.7C, suggested that the SAR
would be more clearly stated as "The functional specification shall
describe every TSFI error message in the implementation."
Upon further review of the elements, the ODRB/NIB realized that our
suggestion was not the right way to state it. The distinction being
drawn by ADV_FSP.6.6C vs. ADV_FSP.6.7C and ADV_FSP.6.8C is between
"direct" error messages (such as those arising from the direct
action of an interface) and "indirect" error messages (such as
messages due to logic errors and the like that might come from any
interface). Thus, we now think the clarification of 6.7C should be along
the lines of 6.8C:
ADV_FSP.6.7C The functional specification shall describe all error
messages contained in the TSF implementation that are
not directly associated with a TSFI in the functional
specification.
As always, further suggestions for improvement from cc-cmt are welcome.
