Follow-Up on FDS Survey

Some clarification on yesterday's request for FDS/Smokeview
materials.

Some users have sent me materials already, but I think I did
not make myself clear. I do not want entire slide
presentations on a particular project. I just want single
slides, one per project, that contain all the information
needed to describe the work. These slides will be part of a
presentation with potentially hundreds of slides. I just
want to convey for each project the bare essentials. For
example, include on the slide the following type of
information:

Study of Smoke Control in new Shopping Mall
John Smith, PE
Acme Fire Protection Engineering
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Company logos are OK. The majority of the slide area should
contain a large Smokeview image (or images, photos, graphs)
that conveys visually what the study is all about. Be
creative. Use the newer features of Smokeview to present an
image that will have meaning to a non-engineer. Colorful
contours are great for analysis, but it is often difficult
to understand them at first glance.

The title of the slide should convey the technical scope of
work, for example: smoke control, sprinkler activation, fire
spread, etc.; along with the specific type of building,
arena, hotel atrium, shopping mall, etc. Names of important
landmarks should be added. 

I am most interested in the TECHNICAL issues involved, less
so the normal give-and-take with the Authority Having
Jurisdiction. My job is to ensure that FDS does the
calculation properly. Your job is to use it properly and
present its results clearly.

Attached is a simple example. This would be typical of a
research/academic application, not a commercial one.
