Guys,

Can you take a little time to help here. I would be extremely grateful.

Really, really want to try and then comment on the library but?

Please provide careful instructions for a newbie to run the example
“MagicSquareExample.class”

Please indicate what directory to be in to run the file?

Please indicate exactly what command is needed to run the example?

I can get any number of widely different error sets, but not a running
example. Before you ask I have spent two long very late evenings
reading and trying everything.

Have been through “Java in easy steps” by Mike McGrath so know Java is
working. Javac and java commands work console and windowing using swing.

Thought I would now get some good stuff going but?

Extracted all the source *.java and *.class files and the directory tree
supplied into “C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\lib\Jama\” which to me
made some kind of sense. “Jama” does not appear twice in the tree.

Again what directory do I start in and what command to run the example?

Starting from c: hardrive root directory I should only need two commands.

cd “c:\???????\????”
java –classpath “?????\?????\????” “????\???\??\MagicSquareExample”

It only needs two command lines to keep me happy and to save hours and
hours of complete utter frustration for every newbie.

Running Windoze XP

Thanks in Advance
