Have been doing intensive matrix calculations since 1975 using the original
SMIS routines. Kept abreast of all the changes over that time
Fortran->Microsoft Dos(Basics C++)->Windows Visual Basic & Borland C++.
Ported Numerical Objects public version 4 to Windows on Borland C++. Now it
is time to come up to speed on Java.
Thanks for the hint will get an IDE, but find it valuable to understand the
implementations at a lower level by command line as well.
Regards
Terry H.

Not sure if you are a JAMA list subscriber ...

It sounds discouraging, but the bottom line is : JAMA is developed for
advanced
matrix operations. It assumes its users are not newbie in java.
However, if you really have no idea about setup JAMA, I suggest a jave IDE
for
you guys: ECLIPSE. It's available for most platforms, Linux, Windows,
Solaris,
etc. The package setup in ECLIPSE can be done by click buttons. So, it's
easier,
and more productive. So you can focus on development, instead of tedious
path
setup stuff.
