Another alternative is to use the Java Native Interface (JNI) and link
to C or Fortran libraries (see
http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/jniexamp.html
for a quick example of how JNI works). This is a particularly useful
option if you are concerned about performance.

    Yes!

It's more than 4 years since there was any kind of update, and the
authors have repeatedly stated (on this list) that they have other
     priorities than to maintain/support JAMA.

There's at least 20 free Java Linear Algebra libraries around (many
of which contain JAMA since it's public domain). 3 or 4 of them are
    very good, and currently/still maintained.

    Look here

The following entry in the javadoc of Apache Commons-Math 2.0:

        http://commons.apache.org/math/api-2.0/org/apache/commons/math/linear/LUDecomposition.html

suggests that JAMA is no longer supported. Is this correct?
