Directory Meeting 28 June

The TWG has been tasked to develop a "Directory Profile," that defines the directory requirements for interoperating with the Federal PKI. The initial effort will probably be oriented to X.500 DSP chaining of directory servers, since that is what we have experience with. However we recognize that it may be necessary to find ways to extend the reach of the Federal PKI to those use other technologies, including LDAP referrals.

I've put up several directory oriented documents from the DoD BCA demo
effort and the USGOLD documents Design Document and Schema are also
available at: <http://csrc.nist.gov/pki/twg/directory_references.htm>

We are planning to hold the first meeting of our Directory Profile Working

Directions to NIST North

To reach NIST North from the Washington Beltway, take I-270 to Frederick. Exit 270 at Exit 10, Rt.117 and Clopper Road. At the first Light on Clopper Rd. turn right and then turn right at the first stop sign. NIST North is at the end of this road (100 yards).

To reach NIST from Frederick, MD, take I-270 to Washington, and exit at exit 11-B, Route 124 & Quince Orchard RD. At the first light turn left onto Firstfield Rd, then go straight through two stop signs, until the road ends in the NIST North parking lot.

There is a shuttle bus from the Shady Grove Metro to NIST at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. As you exit from the Metro turnstiles, turn right, go through the tunnel, and wait at the bus stop. You will be on the same side of the Station as the parking garage. The shuttle will be a van of some sort, with a sign on the side. Get off at NIST North (ask the driver if you don't know). Fill in the form on the shuttle to visit Bill Burr, x2914, Division 893.

Several maps are available at:

Bill Burr
