FBI urges further steps to safeguard Windows XP

re: http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/internet/12/23/microsoft.hackers.ap/index.html

"The company [Microsoft] acknowledged this week that Windows XP suffers from serious problems ..."

"Another risk, that hackers can implant rogue software on vulnerable computers, was considered more remote because of the technical sophistication required."

As to the latter, I must wonder what lack of sophistication the author thinks exists out there.  While still "more remote" the likelihood seems to me to be about 100% :-).

Cheers,
Gary
