Dear VID members,

The Multimedia Knowledge Discovery group at IBM Almaden has been working
for several years on automatic indexing of video, audio and related text
and foils, together with efficient video browsing. In this context, the
CueVideo
project focuses on video and speech retrieval using combined speech
recognition (ViaVoice) and phoneme matching, video analysis (detection
of shots, keyframes, storyboards, fast moving storyboards etc), phrases
and
topics detection, and advanced web based video browsing with synchronized
views. We have built a toolkit of it and had reasonable experience with
customers
in the video business who seek video indexing solutions to manage their
video
archives and applications. We participate and contribute to the MPEG-7
standard,
mainly in the Video Description Scheme and the Speech Indexing and
Retrieval.
Our external web site is http://www.almaden.ibm.com/cs/cuevideo/. We will
be happy
to provide you with more information and publications per your request (the
web site
also has a few).

We are looking forward to learn about what has been proposed and discussed
so far
in VID, and we are excited of the opportunity to participate and to
contribute in this track.
Can we request for an archive of postings to be mailed to us please?

Best Regards,
Arnon
