Hi,
Ramazan Taban, a visiting researcher at NIST who will be looking after the
shot boundary dectection evaluation, and I have pulled together some more
details of what we have planned for shot detection. We linked the following
new page into the guidelines under Evaluation:
<http://www-nlpir.nist.gov/projects/t01v/shots.html>
There are a number of technical issues to be resolved. But first, if you
are still planning to participate in shot boundary detection, please email
that fact to Ramazan - not the trecvid list - today. See the bottom of the
new page for a mail-to url. In particular, tell him if the milestones are ok
with you.
1. Jul - Test collection announced
1. Aug - Submissions due to NIST
1. Oct - Evaluated submissions returned
Thanks,
Paul
