Subject: Final Working draft of ISO/IEC TR 19765

Dear WG 6 experts, Yves and Nathalie,
here is the re-modelled draft of ISO/IEC TR 19765 (Survey of icons and
symbols for use by the elderly and disabled) for your final comment
prior to the first CD ballot. My apologies for the delay.

Since our meeting at AFNOR in Paris in December, I have:
- Restructured the draft based upon modality (rather than by disability)
as per the "white board" exercise in Paris,
- Added some further icons and symbols (my thanks to Ed for the Apple
one)
- I've seperated out the ETSI telephony symbols into their own section
as they did not fit "comfortably" into our model.
- Removed the descriptions of the graphic from each icon or symbol
(...we are not defining graphics here and any descriptions would simply
be conjecture).
- Updated the sources and added cross references to the Bibliography

What remains to be done?
- Comments and further input (note that some definitions are still
needed) from yourselves by 26th March (I do not intend that a CD ballot
will be completed before the next meeting, but would like to get one
moving ASAP).
- Concurrent circulation (with the ballot) to the sources of the icons
to gain their approval for inclusion in the final standard (and to check
for corrections or new icons/symbols)...Nathalie, we will need to get
some addresses...I think that France Lafargue had some contacts with
Microsoft and Apple...please could you check with her and let me know?
I'll draft a text to accompany the draft.
- I await a further symbol from within IBM...I note that my laptop has a
built in screen magnifier, accessed via "Fn" + "Space bar" and a symbol
is provided.

I look forward to your responses.....Richard
